Orca Surgical developed a hand held tool for ophthalmological surgeries.

The device enables surgeons to perform flapless epithelial removal by gently sweeping the epithelial surface.

The procedure lasts about ten seconds, not at all painful for the patient, who can walk away once it's done.

Orca asked us to redesign its multi-use titanium tool, and make it a disposable plastic device.  The challenge was to design it with a quality of a consumer product, preferably desirable.
